Deepening faith and obedience

Does your life pull people, “into the center, deepening faith and obedience”?  (See 1 Timothy 1:3-4).  We are living in some very difficult times.  In fact, I don’t think we have seen anything close to the worst of it!  As this battle continues to heat up, I believe God wants to pour out His Spirit unlike any other time.

I heard Joel Rosenberg on Glenn Beck tonight say that the purpose of the Christian during the end times is to share the Gospel with the world around us.  That needs to be our mission…  our passion and reason for living.

Paul writes in 1 Timothy 1:5,

The whole point of what we’re urging is simply love—love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God.

Love should compel each of us to a deeper faith in Jesus and a life of obedience to love those we come in contact with everyday.  How can you best reach those you see everyday?  Does your life allow the Holy Spirit to share the love of Jesus with those around you?

There are many people who are looking for answers – we are asked to simply love in Jesus Name.

Glenn Beckof Fox News has launched website the912project.com

What is The 9-12 Project?  “The 9-12 project is to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001.  The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States, or political parties.  We were united as Americans, standing together to protect the values and principles of the greatest nation ever created.”

Muddy Water

The number 1 time slot for news at 5 P.M. E.S.T. is Glenn Beck on FoxNews.  He is number 3 of all Cable News shows.  Tonight he ended his show with Trace Adkins performing “Muddy Water”.  I’d not heard the song before.  I’m so glad I heard it tonight.  Click here to see the music video for the song.

As followers of Jesus, we must totally give our worship to him.  He is more than worthy of the praise that we can give.  Our lifestyle of worship will lead us to the throne before him.  While there in his presence we will be brought face to face with the sinfulness of our lives and want to be changed.  Our response will be much like that of Isaiah.  Read Isaiah 6:1-8.

Our response must be, “I’ll go, send me!”  Who is around your life who needs to hear that Jesus loves them?  Will you go… who will you lead to the Muddy Water?

FOCUS: December 2008… HOPE

Hope is the word that lingers in my head these days.  There’s a lot of people in need of hope.  Hope in conquering the past, the present, and the fears of the future.  Hope…

I watched and interview yesterday on CBN.  CBN’s guest was Glenn Beck.  They were talking about his new book, The Christmas Sweater.  It was a very emotional interview… full of redemption and hope.  As I enter into December 2008, I am going to focus on hope.

Romans 5:1-5 in the Message,

1-2By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.

3-5There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!

Pray for our troops and families!

I was watching Glenn Beck tonight.  He was doing a story on a Soldier and his wife.  He had been wounded in Iraq.  Beck was doing more of a tribute to his wife and the sacrifice that spouses make.

Let’s never forget to pray daily for our military and their families.
