Psalm 40:1-3

You know how sometimes when you wake up in the morning and you’ve got a song on your mind that you can’t get rid of all day long?  I had one of those the other morning.  It was a song that I really like and one I haven’t heard in 20 years or more.  It was by The Cars!  The song was “Moving in Stereo” and now I want to go and buy the CD.

Well, this morning I woke up quoting a passage of Scripture.  I thought that it was pretty cool to wake up with God’s Word on my mind like that.  It was Psalm 40:1-3 in the King James none-the-less.  I will post it here from the New Living Translation. I read it in the NLT all day today as this is the version I keep on my desk.

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.  He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and mire.  He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.  He has given me a new song to sing, hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see what he has done and be astounded.  They will put their trust in the Lord.
