Boy, all I want to hear right now is silence. Wouldn’t that be nice?
Don’t you wish at some times in life you could just automatically be transported to (Fill in the blank) ? Some place that is peaceful… no cell phones, computers, TV, cars, or schedules. Some place where you could just be quiet and listen to the silence.
I’m home for lunch right now. I was laying down on my “big chair” dreaming of silence and all I can hear is the air conditioner running. (Thank God for A/C!!) It got me to thinking about this past Sunday morning (at Taylor’s Lake) when we took 10 seconds to listen to the wind blow through the trees. That’s the kind of silence I’m talking about.
I need a bit of silence in my life right now. I want a place where I can go and do nothing with the exception of listen to the silence… and hear His still small voice in the midst of the silence.
God’s glory is on tour in the skies, God-craft on exhibit across the horizon. Madame Day holds classes every morning, Professor Night lectures each evening.
Their words aren’t heard, their voices aren’t recorded, But their silence fills the earth: unspoken truth is spoken everywhere. (Psalm 19:1-4, The Message).
